Enyo was the goddess of battle and the personification of
war. She was also one of the Graiae. Her name seems to be a belligerent one
meaning something like 'goader', 'inciter', from nysso, 'to prick', 'goad'. Enyo's
Roman equivalent was Bellona (which name see).
