Hypseus

Hypseus was the son of the river Peneius and the Naiad Creusa. He became the father of Cyrene, Themisto and Astyagyïa, with his wife being Athamas, and he was also one of the kings of the Lapiths, in Thessaly. His name appears to be a complimentary one, meaning 'one on high', from hypsos, 'height' - which after all is suitable for a king.
