Hicetaon was the son of
Laomedon and
Strymo (or
Leucippe or Placia). He was thus the brother of
Priam. He was also the father of
Melanippus. As a Trojan elder he has a name that suggests his function, since it appears to derive from hicetes or hictor, 'suppliant'.
