Leucippe

Leucippe was the daughter of Minyas. In spite of her adventures and misadventures (her son Hippasus was torn to pieces and she was turned into a bat) her name has a propitious sense, 'white mare', from leucos, 'white' and hippos, 'horse', 'mare'.
