Iphicles

Iphicles was the son of Amphitryon and Alcmene, and was said to be the twin brother of Heracles. Doubtless this prestigious family connection is indicated in his name, which means 'famous might', from iphios, 'strong', 'mighty' and cleo, 'to be famous'. Like his brother, he was thus 'famous for his strength'.
