Iphianassa

Iphianassa was the daughter of Proëtus and Stheneboea who was cured of her madness by Melampus.

Another Iphianassa was the daughter of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra who is usually identified with Iphigenia. Either way, the name is a 'prestige' one, meaning 'mighty queen', from iphi, 'strongly', 'mightily' and anassa, 'queen'. See also Iphinoë.
