Orseïs was a nymph and the wife of Hellen, to whom she bore Dorus, Aeolus and
Xuthus. Her name appears to be based on ornymi which has a wide range of meanings, from 'to rouse', 'stir' to 'cause', 'excite', 'arise'. Orso, for example, means Ί will rouse' (or any other of these meanings). It is difficult to be more precise without some specific guideline.
