Silvanus was a
Roman woodland god who was frequently identified with Pan. With the growth of his cult, he was 'promoted' and became more a god of agriculture than one simply of forests. His name means 'of the forest', however (Latin silva). In view of the adjectival form of his name, perhaps the noun Faunas should be supplied.
