Thea has a divine name - literally, since thea means 'goddess'. She was the daughter of Chiron the Centaur and was a noted prophetess.
She was raped by Aeolus and for a while after this was disguised by Poseidon as a mare named Euippe, as whom she bore the foal Melanippe (these names meaning respectively 'fine mare' and 'black mare').
