Tectamus

Tectamus was a king of Crete and a son of Dorus. He married a daughter of Cretheus and sailed for Crete with an army of Aeolians and Pelasgians. He seems to have been a resourceful and practical man, since his name indicates 'craftsman', from tectainomai, 'to build', 'plan', in turn from tecton, 'carpenter', 'builder'. This could have a metaphorical sense, however, and mean more 'planner', 'plotter'.
