Meliboea

Meliboea was a daughter of Niobe. Her name means 'sweet-voiced', 'honey-toned', from meliboas (meli, 'honey' and boe, 'cry'). Pausanias, however, says that Meliboea was also called Chloris because she turned 'pale' (chloros) when she was frightened! (The basic meaning oï chloros is 'pale green', with the general sense of
'pale'.)
