Nausithoiis was a king of the Phaeacians and the son of
Poseidon and
Periboea. He became the father of Alcinoüs and
Rhexenor, and was the grandfather of Nausicaä. His name means 'eager sailor', from nautes, '
sailor' and thouros, 'leaping', 'eager', 'impetuous'.
