Who's Who in Classical Mythology
Oenone
Oenone was a nymph, the daughter of the
river
Cebren and the wife of
Paris
. Her name means 'wine lady', from oinos, and this can be taken to be a propitious name, indicating fullness, richness and gentleness, rather than drunkenness and wantonness.
