Who's Who in Classical Mythology
Thoosa
Thoosa was a sea-nymph, the mother of Polyphemus the Cyclops by Poseidon. She herself was the mother of Phorcys. Her name means 'quick', 'nimble' (thoos), which must be a good name for a sea-nymph or indeed any kind of nymph.
